The Ultimate comfort food: Easy Green bean tater tot casserole

  Hi Friends,  Today I'm going to share my grandma's delicious green bean tater tot casserole. It is super simple to make, can easily be made ahead and stored in the fridge for later in the week or in the freezer for up to 3 months. I love that it is easy to make, is a great comfort food (similar to shepherds pie without all the extra calories) and the options of what you add in are limitless and can be catered to around every food restriction & easily adapted to fit your families needs.  Ingredients:  ⬥1 1/2-2 cups of cooked green beans (fresh) or 1 14oz can of green beans. *They can be chopped or whole, that is up to you and what fits your families needs best.  ⬥1 can of organic cream of chicken, cream of mushroom or cream of celery soup (choice of soup is up to your preference. I tend to use cream of chicken or cream of celery soup with chicken and cream of mushroom if my meat base if beef). ⬥ 1-2 lbs of ground beef  cooked (or could swap out for 4-6 frozen chicken breas

It is on the back side of the Thunderbird Hotel and easily accessible. Plantations of Charleston, Part II: Middleton Place

  Middleton Place: part II of "Plantations of Charleston" series Our tour of Middleton Place, a 320 year old rice plantation began just shortly after our tour of Drayton Hall (if you missed that post click the link here:  https://thishomeschoolerslife.blogspot.com/2021/07/how-to-have-perfect-day-touring.html ).  Middleton Place sits on 110 acers along the Ashley river  and is home to 65 of America's oldest landscaped gardens, historic plantation home, stables and an organic farm. Immediately upon arrival you'll feel like you've been transported to the English countryside. A large stately home (all that is left after Union troops burnt the North flanker and original home during the Civil War) surrounded by vast open green spaces, free roaming livestock wandering about, massive oaks in the distance ready to offer a reprieve on a hot sunny day are waiting to greet you and lend to the iconic atmosphere that is felt the moment you first step foot on the grounds.  One o

Touring the Plantations of Charleston, part I: Drayton Hall

One of our main hopes while we visited Charleston was to visit & tour some of the stunning southern plantations in the area. While we were in Charleston we managed to visit 4 out of 5 plantations that are in close proximity of the city.  Join me as I take us on a tour of Drayton Hall, Middleton Place, Magnolia Plantation and Boone Hall Plantation. We will stroll down history lane, as I share my favorite parts of each plantation, a little brief history of each, recommendations of what to see first, time to arrive at each plantation & best day/time to visit them.  To get started one of the first things to consider is which plantations you'd like to visit and the amount you are comfortable spending & then decide what time of year you plan to visit. Tips for planning the perfect trip to Charleston South Carolina

Have you ever visited a place and instantly fell in love with everything about it?  Visiting Charleston is absolutely magical, it's like being transported back to a different place and time. Where all the stress from a crazy, chaotic whirlwind of a year (like 2020) melts away and is exchanged for southern charm, sweet tea, a stroll down historic cobblestone  streets and an abundance of scenic & memorable locations to visit. When we arrived in Charleston I could immediately sense myself feeling lighter and more care free while the soothing gentle southern breezes washed over me.
