Homeschool Insights & tips

Hi friends,

My hope in creating this page is to provide both veteran & newbie homeschool families encouragement, resources, help and support. On this page it is my goal to share tips and insights I've gleaned from my experiences homeschooling over the past 6 1/2 years & real life struggles & successes in our homeschool journey. It is a bit of a learning curve if you are just jumping into homeschooling and I hope to give you a safe landing place & to help you ease into this phase of your school years.

Happy schooling friends! I am excited to share ideas, adventures, thoughts, curriculum or products we love, ideas & tools that will help make your homeschool journey a successful one :)

So glad to have you here, I look forward to "meeting" you here and having you along for the journey!

Scrumptious Snickerdoodle Cake

Hi there friend, We are celebrating my son's birthday this week & his first request was for this homemade cake to be at his party. The recipe was gifted to me from my Aunt J several years ago after it was an instant hit at a family gathering. My hubby isn't a huge chocolate fan (shocking, I know!😉) so this has become his favorite desert that I make & is quickly becoming one of my kiddos faves and I think it will become one of yours as well. It's a delicious combo of light fluffy cake & creamy homemade frosting with an amazing snickerdoodle flavor.  If you love the taste of a snickerdoodle cookie this cake will delight your tastebuds and if you like baking but don't have a lot of time this is the perfect match on both accounts.  Simple to make & savory to the last bite.  It fits the bill for every birthday, holiday, special family event, is sure to be a crowd pleaser and a hit at any potluck, casual gathering & party. I hope you & your loved ...

Overcoming trials & loss and how to find a greater joy than you thought was possible

There are times in our lives that I believe will be etched into the fabric of our being forever, no matter how hard we try to fight it. Nothing we do can shake those memories from our minds and we must come to terms with the facts that those times may haunt our memoires, toy with our thoughts and have the potential to corrupt our feelings and emotions if we let it. For me, one of those times that will forever be engrained into the inner most parts of my soul and burned into my memory is this night, nine years ago.  *Fare warning friends, this is a long, somewhat messy & somewhat disorganized post. I am so grateful you're here and pray you find a sense of hope and encouragement through my sharing a bit of my story with you here today...  It had only been 5 days since I had made the life changing decision that I needed to leave my (ex-husband) and flee to safety with my two young children. The fateful day the choice was made for me was Christmas 2011. It hadn't been 100% cle...
