Oreo Cream Pie

If I had to choose one of my families most requested pies it would be this or my recipe for oreo pudding cake (recipe link coming soon! ;) )

My Hubby isn't a huge fan of chocolate (😲I know crazy right! ;) ), but he LOVES anything with oreo or cookies and cream so I came up with this super simple pie for him & it's a favorite every time I make it :)

Ingredients:

  • Oreo cookie pie crust (either purchase pre-made or crush oreo cookies with a ninja chopper or blender & mix with melted butter and press into pie plate to form the crust)
  • 1 package oreo cookie and cream instant pudding mix (*also can use vanilla or white chocolate instant pudding mix, crush oreo cookies into a medium size chunks and mix into pudding before it sets)
  • 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 package cool whip or non dairy cool whip (I prefer Tru whip or coco-whip for a slight coconut flavor)
  • 1 package of Oreo cookies (we like to use double stuff or mint for a minty pie *If we are going for a mint pie I add a drop or 2 of peppermint oil to the oreo cookie and cream pudding mix while I'm mixing it with the milk)
Directions:
  1. Mix pudding mix with 1 1/2 cups milk (* add peppermint or oreo chunks if needed or desired), refrigerate for 5 minutes to set
  2. Remove pudding from fridge & mix with 1/2 cup of thawed cool whip or non dairy whip to pudding mix and spread into pie crust.
  3. Top pie with remainder of cool whip/non dairy whip and store in refrigerator until ready to serve.
  4. Crush oreo pieces into small chunks with a fork or ninja chopper & sprinkle across top of pie

*For Christmas I like to make a peppermint version by adding a drop or two of peppermint essential oil to the pudding mix (Could use peppermint extract instead). For an additional topping I like to crush several candy cane pieces or use one crushed candy cane to sprinkle on the top for an added "holiday" flavor :)

Enjoy!

The journey that brought me to homeschooling: part II

Hi friends, Today I thought I'd share about our journey to homeschooling with you. I've had a few inquiries on my Instagram account about what got me into homeschooling lately and I'd love to take you on the journey with me while I reminisce :) So lets go back to the beginning, a little over 9 years ago my kiddos and I were living a completely different life. We were barely hanging on by a thread and just trying to survive another day. That's life, living with an abusive alcoholic and meth addict. I am so grateful and beyond thankful to say that my kiddos and I are survivors of domestic violence/abuse and that we are here, thriving and living an incredible life. One that God has brought so much restoration and healing to, we are safe, happy, healthy and loving the life we are privileged to be living. If you or anyone you know happens to be in a horrible situation, living with a violent partner I encourage you to seek help when it's safe for you/them to do so and t

On my recent travels to Savannah Georgia I scoped out a plethora of murals that I know you're going to love. Check out several of my favorites below and be sure to like, save and follow along for more murals, hidden gems and travel insights from around several of the USA's top cities. One of our absolute favorites was the:   Welcome to Savannah   mural located on: 611 West Oglethorp Avenue (Shown in photo above). It is on the back side of the Thunderbird Hotel and easily accessible. It just so happened that the parking garage we found was just a block away & as an added bonus it was on our way towards the historic River Street.  Another one of my faves and a must stop for any Pepsi fan is the:  Pepsi Loves Savannah  mural located at: 4009 Mon
